The second type describes “common gaming houses” where numerous casino-related games, including poker, are played. The first type is referred to as “betting houses” and is understood to be a location where wagers are placed on various events, including sporting contests and horse races.
Defining two words is the primary goal of these acts. The Common Gaming Houses Act of 1953, as amended in 1983, and the Betting Act of 1953, as amended in 1992, are the primary laws governing gambling-related concerns. Although Malaysia has a large gambling industry, the permit status of these games is unclear due to a lack of clear rules.
